What is PTO reporting?

PTO reporting, also known as Status reporting is a feature that results from Quartix's ability to connect the blue and brown wires of the tracking device to ancillary inputs or to a temperature monitoring sensor.

What type of data will be shown?

Your PTO or Status report will provide you with vehicle trip information that your vehicle has completed for the day, along with the status information showing when the additional vehicle feature has been turned on and off, or the temperature reading for each trip.

How your Quartix unit detects ancillary inputs

Your Quartix unit is able to detect a voltage change on the blue or brown wire that goes from 0 volts to 12/24 volts or 12/24 volts down to zero.

When detecting the voltage change, the change must be constant. For example, if monitoring a road sweepers brushes. When the the brushes are off, the voltage is zero, and when the sweepers are on, the voltage changes to 12 volts and stays at this level for the whole time the brushes are active.

Typical features monitored using ancillary inputs

The status report can be set up for any feature on a vehicle that has a voltage change. The voltage change must be constant while the operation is in progress. Examples of typical connections are:

  • Sweepers
  • Gritters
  • Cutters/Mowers
  • Bin Lifts
  • Doors
  • Blue Lights
  • Sirens
  • Panic Buttons

All installations are subject to site survey by a Quartix engineer, if the vehicle feature and input ticks all of the boxes we will progress with the installation. In the rare instances installation is not possible or the engineer requires specialist equipment this will be fed into our Support team for follow up with you.
