For each speed that Quartix measures, it is scored against other drivers on the same section of road. If the speed is faster than average it is categorised into one of 5 bands which are shown below.

We then find the average score per point and from that calculate a score, 100 being someone who always drives below the average speed and 0 being someone who always drives much faster than other drivers.

Looking at the chart below, this shows the profile of many hundreds of thousands of relative speed scores across all drivers in the our database. From this chart, it can be seen that roughly the top 40% of drivers have a relative speed score of 70 or above (green). Similarly, the worst 30% of drivers have a speed score of 40 or below (red) and the middle 30% (amber) have a relative speed score of below 70 and above 40.

In the example below a driver has scored a relative speed score of 75.

With this score the driver is in the top 40% when compared to the speed profile of other drivers. In addition to the drivers score you can also access the details of the speed profile which the score is based on.

The speed profile will show 5 bars, each of which represents the number of speed points at that level, in this example 75-85%. The length of each bar represents the index value multiplied by the count. Therefore, in this drivers example the green bars are quite long showing that most of the speed points were at lower levels. This would represent a relatively good driver.

The final screenshot below shows how the speed profile looks on the daily driver briefing report page along with the existing speed and driving style reports and the driving style score.
